Winner
David Rennie, The Economist
Charlemagne Print and Blog articles
(2009)
Through his weekly column in The Economist and via the Charlemagne blog, David Rennie covered changes in the European Union. His often humorous commentary cut to the heart of EU politics, provoking and educating on its in and outs. Professor Richard Whitman, chair of the panel of jurors, said of Rennie: “He consistently provides his readers with an unrivalled insight into the machinations of political life in Brussels. He writes with a wit that is absent from much of the reporting on Europe and his column is the weekly ‘must-read’ for keeping a finger on the EU’s pulse.”
